My-Cast. Your Weather. No Waiting.

Hurricane Season 2011 officially came to an end on November 30th.  19 tropical cyclones reached tropical storm strength and that is the third-highest total on record.  Only 1995 and 2010 saw more cyclones develop.  This season just didn’t seem that active because only one hurricane (Irene) made landfall in the U.S..  This was the first hurricane to strike the nation since Ike hit southeast Texas in 2008 and the most significant tropical system to hit the Northeast since Hurricane Bob in 1991.
